He Promised His Wife He'll Take Their Newborn Home Safe, He Needs Your Help

“Pooja keeps calling me every half an hour. She has only one question - ‘Is my baby fine? Is he breathing? When will you bring him home?’ I try to calm her down but nothing I say is enough. She hasn’t held her baby even once - you can only imagine what a mother is going through” - Hitesh, father.

Hitesh and Pooja’s 17-day-old baby boy is struggling for his life in the NICU. He needs prolonged ICU care and his mother is too weak to even come to see him. His helpless father is worried if he can afford that.

I have always stood by my wife, I won’t leave her alone in this struggle

Hitesh, who works in Gujarat in a private company, had come home for his wife’s delivery. The couple was excited, they had so many things planned out for their baby. But none of that happened. What ensued after the delivery was the baby being rushed to the NICU in an ambulance. The sirens, the nurses - everything's a blur for Pooja. But she distinctly remembers her baby boy’s face. That is the only memory she has of him.

“Pooja is afraid and so am I. We spend every moment in the fear of losing our baby. But I promised her that I will bring our baby home safe, I will do anything to keep that promise.”

The baby is so sick that Hitesh can’t be in the same room for more than 2 minutes

The baby boy has severe pneumonia. He is on a ventilator 24X7 - he can’t breathe without support. The baby also has a dangerous infection, doctors have said he needs to stay in the NICU for at least 10 more days.

“They don’t allow me to stay in the same room with my baby for more than 2 minutes. It’s heartbreaking to think that even my presence can kill my baby. Those tiny hands, limbs brings tears to my eyes - I pray for the day when he will be playing in our arms but that seems so far away.

With your help, I can save my newborn

In the last two weeks, Hitesh has spent over 2 lakhs. It is way beyond his means - he earns only Rs 10,000 a month. His savings are all over and he has borrowed from everyone who could lend him something. He needs 5 lakhs and without your help, this couple will lose their newborn.

A generous contribution can help save this baby boy's life
