Our healthcare professionals are our heroes. With the number of cases crossing 45,000 in the country, the risk of contagion is high in hospitals with limited resources.
There is an acute shortage of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) - kits that will keep our health workers safe. Estimates suggest that the requirement for the PPE kits is going to exceed 1 Cr kits over the next 3 months across the country with less than 20% supplied thus far.
Milaap and The Pravin Agarwal Foundation (TPAF) have launched a special initiative to address this huge Demand and Supply gap of PPEs across the country. This gap is being addressed by - identifying demand at individual hospital level, raising funds to source PPE kits, onboarding suppliers certified by government (SITRA, DRDE) and dispatching the kits directly to the hospitals.
Each PPE kit saves not only the life of the healthcare worker wearing it, but also potentially the 20+ patients they interact with every day. ₹1000 is a small price to save dozens of lives
