All donations and proceedings from this fundraiser will go into the internal setup of this pilot centre, and a matching grant (donations/resources) will be raised for the setting up of external infrastructure and other essentials.
Internal setup of the space includes tools and equipment pertaining to carpentry, electronics, power-tools, 3D printer, etc based on the needs of the locality of deployment.
More about the initiative:
Yuva Chintana Innovative Centre for Learning:
The initiative is aimed at setting up four ‘Innovative Centre for Learning’ across four strategic locations across Karnataka, with an aim to increase social capital by providing conditions for a highly nurturing environment where one can give shape to their ideas through hands-on DIY (Do-It-Yourself) mode to learn and develop innovation skills for a demographic neutral audience.
The centres are open-to-all community spaces and are sector-agnostic.
Yuva Chintana Foundation (YCF) plans to do this by deploying the skeleton of a makerspace in each of these 4 districts and wrapping it with a fabric of working that is relevant to the needs of the local community and demographic by primarily mobilizing need-based local talent.
The broad objective of the space is to…
- Assist in unearthing local problem statements,
- Co-create solutions to problems,
- Capacity-build local talents to aid the delivery of the solutions.
The resulting centre is an actionable conducive learning habitat.
