I am yaana Girdhar and I am 13 years old. I have recently started working in NGO's and one of them is HAMARI PAHCHAN. This platform has given me an opportunity to work on several causes and one of them is SUKHAD PROJECT. This project is based upon menstrual hygiene and providing sanitary pads to the unprivileged women. As we have seen alot of women in rural areas suffering from alot of causes. One cause that I know is mensuration unhygiene . These women dont have enough money to buy sanitary pads for themselves and hence use clothes when they know that this causes stains, rashes, uncomfort and many more issues that we can't even imagine off. They even feel shy and shame talking to their husbands about the same as they know that there will be no solution and treatment for them. They always controll themselves by suffering in whatsoever situation they are in. And I feel very guilty seeing this that they cannot be provided with their basic necessities. They are not so confident enough to stand up and say that it's their right to get treatment for their problem's. They are also said not to work and there are many restrictions during their periods. We cannot overcome their grief even if we try to help them as they are already suffering from so many issues. They are not so strong too to go and get their treatment themselves as they have a fear of their husbands and the society that if they see then what will they say. They are dominated to not to talk about this and disclose with anyone. Many of us also feel shy talking about this topic but it is a very natural thing that happens with every women,girl or lady. We think that talking about this might not make people think that don't they know what to talk and not. But I being motivated by my mother and people I feel that this is the time to get the unprivileged women help by providing them with their basic necessaties which includes sanitary pads as one of them. We cannot solve all of their problem's but if solving and giving them relief for their one problem would make a big difference in the society. Not only for them who need the pads would be easier but would let other women also feel comfortable and happy to get their one of the problem solved. For the same I would like everyone to come up and help the women out there as much as possible and contribute their bit. Let's stand for each other and help the society.
