As we at The Better India, sat down to plan celebrations for Independence Day, we spoke about freedom & what it meant to each of us. During the conversation, we realized that we were among the thousands of Indians guilty of taking our freedom for granted, everyday; whether it is freedom from unemployment, hunger, destitution or poverty.

There are 230 million people in the Indian sub-continent alone, who do not get two square meals a day.

This Independence Day, we hope to #FreeTheHungry by partnering with the Robinhood Army on their #Mission500K to make a small difference.

The Plan: To feed 10,000 needy individuals.

INR 2,00,000 will help us buy 10,000 meals and we’ve got just 4 days to raise the amount! Every Rs. 1,000 contributed by you will help us feed 50 people!
So don't wait. DONATE NOW.
We’ve partnered with restaurants across the country who will help us deliver quality meals to the needy on August 15th. Volunteers from the Robin Hood Army will pick up the food from the restaurants and distribute it. They do not accept any monetary help - only food!

We hope that projects like these will inspire the community to work towards changing things for the better. Acknowledge your freedom & play your part to #FreeTheHungry. Make a real difference this Independence Day.
