The nationwide lockdown during the first wave has already pushed us behind financially, and now the second wave is adding new figures. The need of the hour is a united India, we have faced many challenges earlier, and we have always won as we stood united. Our governments need us, and we must cooperate with them. We have to understand that we are already in the mid of the biggest crisis of our lives, and there is no possible way to run away from it.
We have to stand firm against this crisis, and we have to cooperate, avoiding any conflicts and support everyone around us in any possible way. We must take COVID-19 seriously, and our country's current conditions show our people's casual attitude and irresponsible behaviour as a citizen.
The whole world is looking upon India as the future of the COVID - 19 pandemic depends on "How India handles the ongoing COVID -19 second wave". India has already become the hotspot as we have more than 25% share in the world's current COVID - 19 cases. The citizens of India and the non-resident Indians must support the ongoing activities in all possible ways to protect the future of India.
Our primary focus is to save as many lives as possible, we are losing mainly the earning hands, and the second wave affects the youth. We have to protect them to avoid the impending financial and social crisis.
Our Requirements -
1. Oxygen Supply
There is a heavy demand for Oxygen cylinders. The second strain of COVID - 19 is extremely dangerous and chokes the oxygen supply in severe patients.
2. Food and Medical supplies
People are badly affected due to the virus and the lockdown, Millions have lost their jobs, and there is a surge in the number of poor people as the current conditions are making it very difficult for them to survive.
3. Ambulances and transport vehicles
We need ambulances as the cases are increasing daily, and the transport vehicles will help us transport the necessary items to the needy people.
4. Mobile hospitals and remote medical setups.
We need mobile hospitals to help the needy patients by creating a setup at their homes. This step will be significant, which can help us reduce the current hospital load and save more lives.
Our work until now -
We started the Coronavirus Relief Fund campaign last year, and we were the first campaign launched in India, and Milaap was the first platform to launch this campaign in India.
This step shows our dedication and devotion towards the wellbeing of our nation. We collaborated with other organisations and local bodies. Our team is working, directly and indirectly, pan India.
With all the collaborative efforts, we have supported nearly 41,000 families pan India.
We opened all possible channels to reach out to the needy families, and we were able to meet the requirements of nearly all the people "Who came in touch with us".
We supported these families through our food donation drives, and we reached out to them directly and indirectly through our project partners.
We also reached out to the most remote places through local vendors "who supported us in delivering the required items to the local beneficiaries".
Journey of the past year -
It was very tough, but we never stopped. We were facing new challenges, but we kept moving. Most of our team members who actively worked on the grounds got COVID positive, and other team members replaced them.
Those who turned negative returned to the fields, and we kept fighting the war. Even we are running short of supplies, and we had much bigger plans, but our financial limitations stopped us from expanding more.
