India is the 6th Largest Economy of the world and by 2022, it will overtake Germany as the 5th Largest Economy. Yet the educational system is in a dire state even after the implementation of schemes like "Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan" and the "Right to Education". 37 Million Children are out of school in India and the number is increasing at a steady rate which is a alarming fact for the country.

Vriddhi, is a concept perceived to help the underprivileged children by way of educating them to bring them into the mainstream and also bring in them, socially acceptable behavioral change. This ideology was already being practiced by Mrs. Pranita Biswas of Chandigarh for over 5 years in her residential premises by inviting the children of Laborers and Maids, where she has achieved overwhelming results.

As a philanthropist by heart, she decided extend her idea to the penurious children of Jagatpura Village, Mohali, Punjab where she started with a group of 25 children. The message reached out to all the households in the area and within 3 months, Vriddhi Jagatpura Centre enrolls over 100 students.

Vriddhi not only provides free education to out of school kids but also low cost tuition to meritorious students who have the ability to make it big in life.  We employ Unemployed Juveniles as our Teachers who are trained by the Vriddhi Team which includes IIT Kharagpur Students. Vriddhi also ensures that children who have not been able to complete their education due to personal reasons, go through the process of Open Schooling and also gain basic life skills through Vocational Training.

Why do we need your help?

Vriddhi plans to expand to 2 centres within Chandigarh itself, 2 Centres in Panchkula, Haryana,1 centre in Kolkata, West Bengal and also a centre in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh within the next year. For this we require teachers and also supplies worth ₹ 40,000.

We also have laid out a plan to expand our vocational training platform so as to engage unemployed youth and give them a fair chance to excel in life. We need to register under the Skill India Programme and require machines worth ₹20,000 - ₹30,000.

As a organisation with finite resources, your help and support will be big morale booster. As the great Leader Nelson Mandela once said, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world," we empower this thought and nurture this young lives for the better.
