Library for tribal kids

Ask for an update

Story

I am presently working in the tribal belt of Udaipur, Rajasthan. In the past 6 months in four schools, continuous Classroom transaction has resulted in 20% increment in the student learning outcome. With the support from Sarpanch and community members, I have envisioned to open a community library in the school village Mohammed Phalasia. Kids travel from 4-5 Kms each day for quality education and it is their fundamental right to have it.

Vision: Community library
Funds would be utilized in:
2500 books
Stationary
Projector, screen and laptop
Furniture
Toys and games for kids.
Green board and soft boards etc.

Why the idea?
From the past six months working in the tribal belt, I felt that just by teaching course books is not helping the kids much. There is a strong need for exposure, learning environment, resources and other techniques to enhance their learning. By setting up a library I want to start some work on arts integrated education, writing and literature and game-based learning. Also with an acute shortage of teachers usually in the school, there is a need to provide a good learning environment.
