A severe cyclonic storm, Gaja, battered the Tamil Nadu coast on Friday, leaving at least 63 people dead and causing widespread destruction. Authorities said the cyclone crossed the coast between Nagapattinam, Vedaranyam and Thanjavur districts between 12.30 a.m. and 2.30 a.m. with wind speeds of about 110-120 kmph. So please help us to support the needy immediately

This campaign was created to reach to the unreach people affected from the GAJA CYCLONE in the major parts of TAMILNADU. we the Society for Women's Education and Awareness Development (SWEAD) around the  unreached villages  wanted to help people out there by raising as much fund as possible from people well wisher of farmers and agri labours. particularly for poor widows, those who are lost every thing to them
The funds which are being collected will be used for the following purposes
600 goats  will provide to 300widows.

Goals Long time: To create the socioeconomic empowerment of Kaja cyclone devastated women in Neermulai, paravai, sembiyam  villages of Nagapattinam District of Tamilnadu

Short term Goal: To enhance the economic status of 300  women of
poor community as to earn at least Rs.30000 per year.The poor women labourers in the villages are starring for income and they have to satisfy themselves with the meager income of Rs.100 per day. They know only agricultural and allied activities in six month for year. All the agricultural work devastated and 90% coconut tree rooted by recent kaja cyclone. They have no alternative occupations nor do they know any special skills to make income of it. Hence the women group members suggested to us that rearing of goats will help the poor woman to make income in a year and multiply year by year. Each 20 women will be provided INR.10,000/- to purchase three goat and one male goat in a year. The goat will deliver 2 baby goats and the male goat will be sold double of its buying rate as the mutton fetches good prices today. (1 Kg – Rs.600 today rate) Hence, an individual  women labour can make monthly income of Rs.3500/- and have assets worth of Rs.15000 in a year. This will be an additional income for them besides their wages from farm labour and that will improve
their socio economic status as a whole.

Expected Specific Results:
300  women trained on goat rearining and disease control.
300 single women got 4 goats – 5 goats with in one year.
Income of each 300 women increased by Rs.40000 per year.
300 women become get socio economic empowerment status.
