"You don't have to; you get to"
My name is Swati Yadav and I am representing my sweet little sister to you. Her name is Varsha. Though we don't have any blood relationship, there exists a heart connection between us.
She was living a normal life as everybody does. But her life changed dramatically when she came to know about the damage of her both kidneys. Those were damaged more than 85 %. The doctors recommended her Kidney transplant, the only way to save her life.
Withal this damage, things did not stop here. She was the only source of income at home. As soon as her company got to know about her health issues, they asked her to leave the company. Her entire savings earned during this job was spent on diagnosis and medicinal cost. She is left with nothing but with the hope that things will get better soon.
As a matter of fact, a lot of efforts have been made to arrange the donor. Unfortunately, considering the number of cases for a kidney transplant in India, the possibility to arrange the kidney donor is almost 6-10 years or maybe more without any approach. Many of them even died waiting for the donor.
Most of the people suffering in India are well aware of support coming from relatives. Not always, what we see is necessarily true. So, this option has been discarded right at the beginning.
The only good thing is that she has a letter from the health minister of Delhi referring to Hospitals for her treatment to be done at the earliest. However, lacking funds and political support is preventing them to start her treatment. Furthermore, her parents and herself also refraining from an attempt to even get the dialysis for her kidneys. If one has the option to choose, a person would prefer to die rather than dying every day with a heck lot of hopelessness. Those who are suffering (including her) from such situations or any other medical issues, ask them ever the importance of life.
The only possibility they are left with is to approach the private hospitals and get the things done like a magic wand. This looks easier when the cost incurred is not discussed. That's where the richer have all the advantages and mediocre has nothing to say. The estimated cost would be 15 lakh INR for all her treatment.
All these circumstances let her and her family losing the hope and they accepted that things will not work out this way. So, they realized that they needed help from our community. It has to be done ASAP as she is on her 4th stage with 5th being the last. After the 5th stage, there are chances of multiple organ damage.
