My name is Utkrist Gupta, and I am a St. Columba's School student in Class 12-D. For my social internship assignment, I choose the topic "COVID RELIEF PROGRAM AND FREE VACCINATION AID." The fact that I and my family had also contracted the virus encouraged me to take on the aforesaid cause. As a result, I've seen firsthand how things can spiral out of control if proper covid-protocols aren't followed. I'd like to take advantage of this opportunity to assist others who are under-informed on the Covid-19 predicament. 4.4 lakh people have died in our country, and there are 4.6 lakh ongoing covid cases. Apart from catching the virus, the entire community is dealing with a slew of socioeconomic issues. Small companies are closing, families are being displaced, and jobs are being lost, among other things.
WHAT ARE OUR OPTIONS?
The Indian government has contributed its fair share to the protocols' development. It is now our responsibility to adhere to these precautionary steps. Physical or social separation, quarantining, ventilation of indoor spaces, covering coughs and sneezes, hand washing, and keeping unwashed hands away from the face are all examples of these methods. To reduce the danger of virus transmission, it is recommended that you wear a face mask or cover whenever you leave your house.
According to statistics, approximately 200 COVID patients have died in India due to a lack of oxygen. Furthermore, patients denied admittance owing to a lack of oxygen had a higher rate of unexplained fatalities. This occurred during the second wave, when the country was ill-prepared for it. Only 13% of the population has been fully vaccinated against the Covid-19 Virus, according to statistics.
This charity will primarily benefit those who have endured financial hardship as a result of the crisis. This campaign also intends to educate the general public about the importance of wearing masks and the benefits of vaccination. Because the "NGO" said that they will be giving medicines, masks, sanitizers, and other supplies to the cause's recipients, I would like to contribute financially through a fundraising campaign with other students who are equally interested. I'd also be raising awareness about the problem at every opportunity.
Each of us can raise awareness of the above-mentioned topic among the masses by using various ways such as social media to reach out to our relatives and friends.
I would really appreciate it if each volunteer did their part by donating Rs.2 to the fundraising and spreading the word to their coworkers, friends, and family, since they would essentially become the voice of the needy at the end of the day.
We should all be proud of ourselves and see this as the first step toward building a better country, one in which everyone works together.
THANK YOU
