Sukhad- Menstrual Hygiene
Hey, how are you ?✨
I have started a small initiative. It would be great if you could spare a minute and read about the same. Here are the details-
Campaign Title -- "Sukhad- Menstrual Hygiene "
My name is Unnati Vats. I am a 1st year law student and an active social worker who is engaged with helping people in need . Currently I am working with an NGO named "Hamari Pahchan" which is dedicated to uplift the underprivileged and provide them the opportunities to create their own pehchan. The team is filled with a will to contribute towards society at large which focuses on making people happier and filled with chances of success . My organization launched a fundraiser camp "Sukhad- Menstrual Hygiene" . Menstrual hygiene continues to be amongst the most challenging developmental issues that women face today, especially in the developing countries like India, the mindsets, customs and institutional biases prevent women from getting the menstrual health care they need. Menstruation is a natural and healthy biological process for women, in spite of this, it is still considered a taboo in Indian society. Even today, the cultural and social influences on people create a major hurdle in ensuring that the adolescent girls are educated about menstrual hygiene.
Only 13% of girls in India are aware of menstruation before menarche. According to one study, only 36% of India's 355 million menstruating females use sanitary napkins, while the rest use old rags, husk, ash, leaves, mud and soil and such other life-threatening materials to manage their flow.
Thereby, Menstruation adversely impacts women's education, equality, maternal and child health.
Just a small donation of 100 rupees or more or the amount that you are comfortable in supporting the cause will help us in reaching out to girls who are dealing with shortage of sanitary pads.
You can make contributions on our crowdfunding page .If you can’t give, but still want to support our cause, please share our page with your friends, family members, and coworkers. With more people aware of our cause, we’ll be one step closer to reaching our goal.
The team at "Hamari Pahchan" would like to thank you in advance for your support.
Sincerely,
Unnati Vats
