Tiruchendur Sri Subramaniaswamy Temple is an ancient temple extraordinaire.  It is a temple that at once brings out the Heritage, Culture and Architectural splendour of our ancient temples.

An ancient priestly community associated with the temple from its origin i.e. for at least 20 centuries  and known as Trisundarars are still attached to this ancient temple and serving the temple. They are a living symbol of our culture, religion and dharma.

The entire community continues to exude the truth of how a Sanatan community can sustain its Dharma and how Dharma sustains a community.

The members of this community receives no salaries for their service to the temple but survive through “dhakshina”  received from devotees. This poor community has been severely affected by the closure of temple to devotees,  due to Covid-19 Lockdown and are facing extreme hardships.

This is a particularly important temple, which is standing tall as an important sustainer  of Hindu belief among the southern districts of Tamil Nadu

The priestly community, the temple musicians, ghosala workers, flower sellers, garland makers and temple cleaners together number about 525 families totalling about 2400 persons. We plan to provide them groceries and essentials for next two months at least. Please join us in this Dharimic kainkarya.

This is the time they need help from all those who wish Sanatan Dharma to flourish. Corona lockdown has been  severe to all of us. But if we can jointly come together and  contribute what we can at this crucial  period, a whole community which has been an important icon of our Temple communities can survive with some dignity and continue to serve our temple eco system with dedication and confidence. I request you to contribute whatever you can and also spread the word amongst other Sanatan brothers and sisters.
