Sundarban Foundation made its best effort to provide an alternative livelihood ( Self Employed Project) to the #TigerWidows and Underprevilized woemn of Bali Island area of Sundarban Island through providing Making Cloth . Basically after the tiger death attack to their husbands these women sustained their families through fishing in the rivers of the delta and sell it to the local citizens.
There are about 5000 such widows in Sundarban region. This is the first report on animal attack related stigma from these widows of Sundarban, locally called “Bag-Bidhoba” (tiger-widow), from two villages adjacent to Sundarban Tiger Reserve.
We thank for their support to this effort.
