Hi, My name is Manish, I am working in a PSU and residing in Mumbai for nearly a decade.
For last 8+ years, I have been involved in providing food and taking care of medical needs of stray animals in my locality.
During this period I have provided food even upto 35-38 animals at a time starting from merely 4 animals years ago. Currently I am providing food to around 25+ stray dogs and feral cats daily.
However, it is the medical needs which are challenging. Not only the money, the real challenge we find is to provide intensive care which is found difficult due to lack of that big a team. The second big challenge is that there are hardly couple of no-kill shelters in Mumbai and it is difficult to find place there. (One can see from attached document that food alone is costing around 15K a month, not counting milk and medicines and vet visits and ambulance etc, and yet i do not consider that as the prime challenge. The challenge remains in scarcity of active volunteers.)
Our goal is to make people (esp kids/young generation) aware of what they can do to help animals. No one is as strong as all of us. I wish to prepare well trained people who can help animals in need : Caregiver, Fosters, First Aid Providers... I wish to provide required training to at least 2000 youngsters by end 2018 by organizing monthly training camp at a different college every month.
We also intend to establish eventually (within a year) a no-kill shelter in Mumbai for critical care animals where they can get required care and medical facilities, along with quarterly adoption camp in collabarotion with different NGOs/shelters (so as to save money of all organisation involved by resource sharing).
We, a few like -minded individuals, are putting together a team in form of NGO starting Q4 2017 , under the name "The Paws Project". Funds being raised in this campaign shall be utilize for
i. Rentals for NGO till December,
ii. Legal paperwork for establishment of NGO,
iii. Food for 30+ animals,
iv.To neuter/spay around 20 female and male dogs and cats which we currently are taken care of ,

vi. Sudden medical needs , as and when arise.
vii. Expand scope of awareness by conducting workshops in Schools/Colleges/Residential Colonies about Animal care under aegis of "The Paws Project".

viii. To build a one stop website for Animal care, Rules, Laws and Community Building. (this is the biggest task currently)
ix. Staff and Trainers allowances/salary.
