Why am I fundraising?

I teach in Epiphany School, Guruwar Peth, Pune. It is a low income private school in the heart of the city. My students come from economically challenged backgrounds and essentially conservative communities. I have joined Epiphany School to bring a change in the lives of the kids who study in this school and create processes which can be replicated in schools with similar realities. Get to know my classes and me! I will be teaching science to Standard 6, 8 and 9 from 15th of June, 2015. These classes have students who have a spark in them where technology is concerned. They light up at the slightest uncommon phenomena and create a hundred inventions in their head. What they lack is visualization and expression. Many of them are unable to read fluently or write correctly because of learning disabilities or lack of concentration. In a subject where application and curiosity is to be focussed on, I struggle in making them read from their text books.

I recently learnt the concept of multiple intelligences and I want to teach by targeting their Visual, Audiovisual and Musical intelligences. I need to use a projector for the same. It will enable me to Show them exactly what our universe, our world, our earth, our nature, our habitat, our environment, our body, our cells are made up of, and Explore with them how these parts of our life function. I will be teaching 5 different classrooms and will be moving across the school through the day. Hence, I need a portable ensemble in order to save set-up time and maximize my instruction. I need a ready, Plug-Play Community Computer for my class(es) of 30 kids each.

What do I plan to do with the funds?
