Hi,
I am currently a fellow in Teach for India. I teach 50 energetic grade three kids in Malwani Township English Primary School, a Government School in one of the biggest communities in Mumbai - Malwani. My kids have high ambitions for their life. However, they are two years behind their grade level , have little access to sports and books, and have very little exposure to the outside world.
In this one last year of my fellowship, I attempt to bridge this gap.
I along with my co-teacher are planning to build a library for the entire school, prepare students for scholarship , paint our classroom walls, provide professional football training to students, make a dance team and explore the world outside the community.
The rough expenditure on all these small projects are written below.
1) Construction of the Library - INR 20,000
2) Painting the classroom, fixing the roof and grill - INR 20,000.
3) Professional Football Training - The Kids will be training under Rafique Sir who is the founder of Raahi Foundation , a football training club in Malwani community.
Fees for each child every month- 50. Number of kids- 50 . Yearly Expenditure - INR 30,000
4) Field trips - Once in two months - INR 30,000
While I can and will give in my 100% commitment to this attempt, I am under resourced. An attempt of this scale demands a huge logistical support. And that is why I am reaching out to you. Any help in cash or kind would be of great help.
Thank you!
