A focused fundraiser to urgently support children, pregnant women, and families in Wazirpur area of Delhi in collaboration with District coordinator of the area. The area resides 1 lakh+ daily wage laborers.

The area, with its proximity to industrial units like Bawana and Narela, resides a huge population of families of migrant workers along with a large number of young population as children and pregnant women. The funds raised through this campaign would go to serve milk with bread and bananas to children and pregnant women every morning. The cost per head being Rs. 40 per day. Through these funds, 375 children and women would be provided for the next 20 days.

"Somewhere along the way, we must learn that there is nothing greater                                         than to do something for others."
                                            ~Martin Luther King Jr~

Who are we?
We are a SANG (संग),  group of young individuals who have come together with a simple motto in our hearts: "Locking down hunger, together" to aid communities who are, unfortunately, seeing their lives crash in front of their eyes during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

What are we doing?
We are collecting funds that are being used to supply food (wheat, rice, daal, and oil) and soap to families facing the worst backlash in this 21-day lockdown. We are targeting a community of at least 1000 families. We will expand as and when we get to know more communities in need. Total amount needed: Rs. 10,00,000 .

Battles are to be fought on every front in this trying time and while we cannot fight them all, we are determined to do whatever we can.

All of us have the passion to do our bit in these tough times and most of us have the experience of working with the communities of migrants and daily wage earners who struggle to put food on the table when we continue to lead normal lives.. This situation has reduced their resources to naught. Since many of them are deprived of documents essential to get government aid, there is little hope on that front. There are about a thousand such families that we know of and we are determined to help them survive and emerge from this dark phase.

How are we doing it?
The members working for our initiative belong to different parts of the country and so we are working to aid several communities at once by collaborating and working alongside local NGOs and several local members based near the targeted communities. Our plan of action is to identify ration shops with the required essentials in the vicinity of the communities. Funds generated by this campaign shall be spent at these specific shops to procure pre-made aid kits. The kits containing wheat, rice, daal, and oil and soap will be distributed in the community under the vigil of trustworthy community leaders (identified by our members), equipped with safety kits to avoid the spread of the infection and constant updates shall be taken from the field to ensure that this campaign runs smoothly.

The above model has been successfully channelized in the North Delhi (Majnu Ka Tila, Vidhan Sabha, and Khyber Pass) region of the capital. These are small starting points, with your support we hope to cover communities across India.

Why are we doing it?
Honestly, because we care and we know you do too. Our hearts go out to those running the risk of starvation, but the lockdown precludes us from feeding them first-hand. We have thus, kick-started this initiative. The world needs your love and support more than ever before. Let it flow!

What have we done so far?
We have been engaging and coordinating with the community in North Delhi (Majnu Ka Tila, Vidhan Sabha, and Khyber Pass), community leaders and the ration shops. In just two days of kickstarting, our team has raised Rs 1,00,000 and is reaching out to 54 families who are in critical condition. These are small starting points, with your support we hope to cover communities across India.
Battles are to be fought on every front in this trying time and while we cannot fight them all, we are determined to do whatever we can.

The world needs your love and support more than ever before. Let it flow!
