It’s time to spare a thought for the needy and vulnerable.
As the COVID-19 pandemic grows, there’s a section of society that has been brought to its knees. This includes the homeless, wage laborers, and stranded migrant workers. The people who depend on the day’s wages to put a meal on the table for themselves and their families.
At the same time, there are restaurants in the same cities that run the very real risk of shutting down permanently due to lack of business. This, in turn, has the potential to destroy the livelihoods of thousands of kitchen workers, waiters, cooks, and many more.
We can save them. On 28th March, we started our campaign to deliver meals to the stranded migrant workers. As of 31st March, Swiggy is distributing an average of 25,000 meals per day in Delhi.

What are we doing?
- Swiggy is leveraging its network of restaurants and commercial kitchens to help several state governments and NGOs provide simple, wholesome meals in COVID-19 relief camps
- Delivering 25,000 meals per day in Delhi. Each 400gm meal is hygienically prepared and comprises rice, dal, and vegetables, to ensure nutritional needs are taken care of
How can you help?
With your support, we aim to keep this effort going in Delhi. Every contribution, no matter what amount, goes into preparing and distributing a meal for an underprivileged member of society. A donation of as little as ₹250 can provide a day’s meals to a family of four. With this, you can help make sure a homeless person survives to see another day of dignity and hope. This initiative will also help keep the lights on in restaurants that would otherwise be forced to shut down and leave thousands of workers unemployed.
An initiative of Swiggy in association with GiveIndia, a non-profit organization.
