What We Do
"My husband is really proud of me as I am a big support to him now. I was searching for this kind of platform where I feel comfortable. I never felt hesitant to come here. Thanks to Lakshya for such an effort" - Geeta
ASMA ( Aao Saath Maa) is the program started to cater cause of educating underprivileged, downtrodden women and linking them with the mainstream through education and skill based training, to increase their income and participation in livelihood of their family. One of the major aims of ASMA is to create a society which provides equal opportunities to all irrespective of the social and economic barriers
Mrs Geeta is mother of two children. She was an undergraduate woman who hesitate to talk and lacks confidence. Geeta learned English language and computers with us. Geeta is now working with a hospital in back end office as computer operator.
We dream to make all women of India digital literate, irrespective of their economic background. For this purpose we want to set up a computer lab for them. Our courses include Basic computer course to graphic designing skills which in turn make them on job or freelance graphic designers. We are currently seeking funds for 10 computers. An assembled p5 computer will cost us approx Rs. 10,000 and we are taking the target of 10. Our old computers are turning into a scrap consuming lot of money. All we are doing is to hunt scrap computers dumped in scrap market, which are of no use now and is becoming a barrier in our mission.
A lab of 10 computer will cater a batch of 20 women and we will able to provide training to 60 women from three such batches. Moreover for the coming years we shall be serving hundreds of them.
