I’m a budding and inquisitive class 12th student studying in Jamia Senior Secondary School. I have stumbled upon a very unique opportunity in the form of American Field Services (AFS) short term exchange program through which I can live and study in Argentina for some months. As an exchange student, I’ll get to be a part of an entirely different community, learn new values of their culture and forge a wider perspective of the entire world. Being a part of something so extraordinary is a dream only a few students get to live. Exchange programs like AFS can add a lot of value to any student’s life and boost their career. However, they are expensive. Therefore, I am in need of approximately INR 1,50,000 (One lakh fifty thousand rupees) in order to participate in this program. I believe that by being a part of something greater than myself, I can apply my learnings to bring about a positive change in my own country. I’m a humanities student of class 12th at Jamia Senior Secondary School. I am a 17 years old girl who loves to dream but also wants to fulfil them. I am still discovering who I am and on this path to self-discovery, all I want to do is explore, learn and experience new things. These lines may give the impression that I'm a wide-eyed school student with a romantic view of the world, sometimes these dreams are far from the truth, while I know sometimes you cannot fulfil them alone and you need help from others to achieve your dreams.
Let me brief you first. A few months ago I decided to apply for the AFS (American Field Services) short term exchange program for school students. And after all the challenges, screenings, procedures and interviews I went through, I finally got selected to participate in the AFS short term program 2021 to Argentina. This AFS program is an excellent opportunity to begin my global exploration. It can be said that travelling to another country educates you about two countries - the one you travel to and your own mother land. I believe this program will give me a wider perspective of the world as well as India - Argentina international relations. At the same time, I will have the opportunity to enhance my personal and cross-cultural communication skills, which will prove to be a great asset for my future.
If I become lucky enough to experience this unique opportunity, I will join more than 14,000 students, young adults and a similar number of volunteer host families who will also be taking part in the AFS programs as well as almost 40,000 active volunteers worldwide. I will have the opportunity to meet and learn from many of these extraordinary individuals.
In this program I will be hosted by a local family, who will introduce me to the community, make me feel comfortable and help me make friends. I will be enrolled in the school of Argentina. Apart from that, I will get the chance to learn the second most spoken language in the planet - Spanish

Exchange programs like AFS can add a lot of value to any student’s life as well as career. For a student like me, this program is equivalent to a dream, the major difference being that I can actually achieve this if I get to participate.
However, this dream won’t be realized if I don’t get help. In order to participate, I am required to pay Argentina - INR 2,82,020 (Two lakh eighty-two thousand and twenty rupees). So far, INR 1,32,020 has been arranged but I am still in need of INR 1,50,000 (One lakh fifty thousand rupees). After coming this far, I don’t want to lose hope. I want to believe that this dream of mine will actually be fulfilled. Therefore, I am asking you to believe in the positive change I can create and invest whatever amount you can contribute. I have also included a page with further information. My hope is that you will see the value of this program and that it opens your heart to help me. I would like to thank you in advance for anything you can do in support of this effort.
