Kids in slums are finding it hard to cope up with the regular school. They need extra help and we are here to provide that extra help and bridge the gap. Are you willing to be part of it?

In Guwahati Chapter recently we have started 2 Abhyasika for the slum children in Fatasil and Paltan Bazar .Abhyasika LC (Free Study Room) is a student-centred activity, attempting to find a solution to the difficulties faced by the students residing in slums. The study room facility is located close to or in the slum. Places such as schools or community halls are selected for this activity. Provision is made for adequate light, drinking water and toilets. Students from the slum are invited to the Abhyasika every evening where they can study and complete their homework in a peaceful manner. In this respect study rooms differ from tuition classes. No regular classroom type teaching is conducted in Abhyasika. The supervisors solve difficulties faced by the students. Attendance is recorded every day. And consistent absentees are visited at their homes and helped as required to get back. Progress of the students is monitored periodically by obtaining progress reports of their respective school.
