The Covid 19 outbreak has hit severely around the world. Irrespective of various development parameters and health care facilities, the covid 19 pandemic hit badly among all the countries.
India while managed the 1st wave of Covid 19 in a better way, the 2nd wave had hit heavily. As of 15 July 2021, more than 31 million people infected with Covid in India while 0.4 million (1.29%) of the lives were lost due to this pandemic.
The State of Tamilnadu with more than 2.5 million infected people and 33500+ lost lives due to Covid, stands at the fourth highest infected state in India.
Namakkal District is one the highest Covid 19 affected districts in Tamilnadu with the registered cases of 50923 with 488 deaths is one among the severe hit districts in Tamilnadu as of 5 October 2021.Even Namakkal District has the mean RT PCR positivity rate stands higher at 1.2 compared to the Tamilnadu State average of 1.
While we witnessed multifold challenge to treat the infected people at the hospitals, contain the spread among the communities, impact of the lockdown at various sections of the society more care has also to be done to rebuild the livelihood of the affected people especially marginalized sections of the society. The gains of the various programs by the people were lost due to this pandemic and the lock down measures, lost active earning member.
While the exact number of lost of the active earning members are being collected from the ground, at present we have the datas of 200 families who affected the most by this Covid by losing their active earning family member and suffered a lot for their livelihood.
With the help of tailor made livelihood training and employment assistances, they are in greater need to rebuild the lives of these affected families and to support the children’s education.

We are planning to give 2 months entrepreneurial development training for the women and to support their income generation programs with the capital support as per the following budget:
Training on Entrepreneurial Development for 200 women for 2 months: Rs 1500 x 200 = Rs 300000
Working Capital Support for 100 women = Rs 2000x 100 = Rs 200000.
