CALL FOR DONATION TO PROVIDE FOOD TO MIGRANT WORKERS
We have seen the photos of migrant workers walking hundreds of Kilometers to their homes. Its a pity that our people are striving for the very next meal.
Bengaluru has close to 3 lakh migrant workers who have put their sweat and blood in building this beautiful city. They are in dire need of food supplies due to recent loss of employment/work loss because of Covid-19. Most of them are surviving on one meal in two days. Thousands of new borns and women are at risk. If the situation is not addressed more people will die of hunger than Covid-19 in India.It is incumbent on us to do our best to provide food to our fellow countrymen.
'ForMigrantWorkers' is a citizen collective aimed to address this situation. We are a group of volunteers, activists who have been working on ground with migrant workers for years in Bengaluru. We are hoping to distribute ration kits to 5000 families in Bangalore. ForMigrantWorkers hopes to connect and work with organisations, individuals who are already working on the cause.We are currently working with few individuals and organisations who are fighting this battle. We will also collaborate with the Government agencies to help facilitate food supplies to slums and labor colonies apart from working on policy framework to ensure no one dies of hunger.
