The stray dogs of Faridabad are in a especially bad state. With many interconnecting roads, reckless drivers and a general existing apathy, very few dogs and even fewer pups survive.
I have been trying to save as many dogs as possible but every litter is a heartbreak because even if one out of the many pups survive, it isn't short of a miracle.
The death of pups and the burden of birthing takes a toll on the dog, and she often dies because of infections and malnutrition.
The spaying of a dog requires Rs 2500 at a minimum, and an additional Rs 1000 for the blood test. I get the surgeries conducted at Dr Ansari's clinic in Neb Sarai in Delhi because he gives me the best price and care for the dogs. The transportation per dog requires Rs 500 per dog (pick up and drop).
It takes Rs 2,500 to get the female spayed and an additional Rs 1000 for the blood tests. The surgery is done in Neb Sarai by Dr Ansari and the average transportation cost ( to and fro) is Rs 500 per dog.
