Everyone has that sportsman inside them, it’s just tapping their potential which can bring that sportsman out. Remember those days when we were kids and all we wanted to do in school and home is play. Whether it is Cricket, Football or Badminton for every game we had the same enthusiasm. We were really blessed that we got coaches, proper grounds and facilities during our time, and because of that we are able to pursue our interest in sports till now, be it professionally or as a hobby.
But, do you know that not all are blessed like us. Around 85% students in India do not have access to sports, 66% lacks life skills and every 2/3 children do not have a healthy BMI.

To bridge this gap three teachers from low-income schools of Ahmedabad started a project called URJA Sports, where they provide sports training and event exposure to kids living in marginalised communities of Ahmedabad. URJA Sports started its project in June, 2018 by intervening in two schools namely: 1. Republic High School, near Lal Darwaja, 2.F.D High School, Juhapura. It deeply believes in right exposure and to provide that  it organised an annual sports meet SPARDHA in 2018, where 1300+ students and 20 schools from different parts of Ahmedabad participated.

WHAT IS SPARDHA?
Spardha is a platform that provides opportunities to kids from low-income communities to showcase their sports skills, compete and learn. Last year kids from 21 schools across the city of Ahmedabad participated in 15 different games as mentioned below.

After successfully organising the event in 2018, Team URJA Sports is back again with SPARDHA 2.0. This time URJA Sports is targeting 2000+ kids and 30+ schools from different parts of Ahmedabad.



 WHAT WILL YOU BE CONTRIBUTING TOWARDS ?
 Your valuable donation will be used for booking venue, getting referees/coaches/officials, acquiring logistics, medals & trophies and printing certificates etc.

Organizing  the same level of event for 22+ schools will cost approx. 100 rs/child. Total amount of fees collected this year still doesn't suffice the need, which indeed demands more funds.
