I am reaching out to you for help and support in the darkest hour of Vivek Bahl's life. Vivek Bahl, 51 years old, lost his leg as he was not able to get oxygen on time when he was Covid Positive. He had a small construction business which is now closed. He will need an artificial prosthetic leg to stand up on his feet again and get his life back to normal in years to come.
He has a wife and a 19 year old son to take care of.

I am reaching out to you for help and support in the darkest hour of Vivek Bahl's life. Vivek Bahl, 51 years old, lost his leg as he was not able to get oxygen on time when he was Covid Positive. He had a small construction business which is now closed. He will need an artificial prosthetic leg to stand up on his feet again and get his life back to normal in years to come.

An appeal from Vivek's cousin Alka Kheterpal:Vivek was tested positive for Covid-19 on 2nd May 2021. Within a few hours Vivek condition deteriorated and his oxygen saturation levels started falling. His wife and son went from hospital to hospital looking for oxygen support.In those 18 hours the lack of oxygen had caused irreparable damage to his lungs as well as his left leg. Finally, he got some oxygen support from a Gurudwara in Ghaziabad. Post that he was shifted to Max Saket hospital. He developed a vascular clot in his left leg with multiple clots in the pulmonary artery and lungs. His kidneys were malfunctioning as well. Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of the doctors, his left leg could not be saved and had to be amputated.
As of today, he has lost his leg, his business and is on extensive medical care at home. Till date, his family has spent 20+ lakhs on Vivek's treatment and have exhausted all their savings. The cost of medical treatment everyday including the physiotherapy sessions is 10000 rupees. Doctors have advised the same to continue for the next 6 months. The cost of the artificial prosthetic leg and the treatment will be about 15 lakhs. The total cost for treatment incurred plus his prosthetic leg would be 50 lakhs. His business is now closed. His wife is not working and his son's college education needs to be paid for. In all the total expenses for medical treatment, living expenses, education and medicines will amount to about 64+ lakhs.
