    Vineet Pandit

    from Mumbai, Maharashtra

Synopsis:
Vineet is just 35 years old, and currently battling for his life in the ICU with a pneumothorax (full lung collapse) as a result of a covid-19 infection. Breathing only with the help of a ventilator, Vineet has also lost both his kidneys, and requires dialysis on a regular basis. Having acquired the dreaded coronavirus from his father (who unfortunately succumbed in April due to complications arising from Covid-19), Vineet is the sole breadwinner for his family, supporting his mother and sister. Having spent almost 2 months in the hospital, his insurance policy has exhausted, and family funds have dried out. Vineet and his family need your help to take care of their daily hospital expenses (almost 1 lakh a day in ICU), followed by funds required for his kidney transplant.

Full story:
Vineet Pandit grew up to humble parents in the city of Mumbai, and completed his schooling at Greenlawns High School. Those who know him, remember him as a mischievous and full-of-life person, always wearing a smile on his face. Vineet was the life of any group, and for his friends, the greatest shield they could ever have. For him, his friends meant the world, and he would go to any lengths to bail them out of trouble. Today, tables have turned, and it is Vineet who needs the help of his friends and well wishers to bail him out.

Vineet’s father, Mr. Madanmohan Pandit, tested positive for Covid-19 in April. Subsequently, even his mother tested positive. A doting son, Vineet selflessly devoted himself to the care and upkeep of his parents, never once leaving their side. After a few days, both his parents tested negative, however his father unfortunately succumbed to complications arising out of Covid-19. Not only that, but Vineet himself tested positive for Covid-19. Being largely asymptomatic for the first few days, Vineet suddenly started experiencing high fever followed by a reduction in his oxygen levels.  He has since been hospitalized, and as things stand, has lost both his kidneys as well as his lungs, breathing only with the help of a ventilator. Nonetheless, being the lion-hearted person we’ve always known him to be, Vineet is mounting a valiant effort against the dreaded virus, unwilling to loose this fight. Having spent the greater part of the past two months in hospital, he has already tested negative for Covid-19, and his family is praying for his lungs to recover after which they can perform a transplant for at least one of his kidneys. His mother is willing to donate one of her kidneys to Vineet.

Vineet’s life now depends on contributions from anyone and everyone, no matter how small. Please come forward and donate whatever you can-it may just make a world of a difference for him and his family!
