This fundraiser is for my parents. My mother is fighting stage four cancer. She was initially diagnosed for breast cancer in 2007 she had to undergo surgery and chemotherapy for the same. She was again diagnose for stage four cancer spread in breast, bones and ribs in 2018. She was a working women but because of the cancer in her right shoulder bone she cannot move her right arm anymore and hence cannot work.
My father has suffered from 5 paralysis attack and minor heart attacks since 2014. He is also unable to work because of weakness and lack of balance.
My mother is ongoing chemo therapy and an Injection for bones. The monthly cost of chemotherapy, medicines and blood tests adds up to 40000 per month and every 4 months she has to get her PET CT which costs 25000.My father is on heavy medications and requires daily physiotherapy and speech therapy and regular tests like MRI which adds up to 50000 per month.
I am currently pursuing engineering with an education loan. My sister being the only working person in the family earns 25000 with her job and tuition.
We live in a rented house.
We have used all of our funds ( around 600000 last year).
The doctors have said the cancer is not a 100% curable and she will have to take regular chemotherapy (whenever required) and hormonal therapy and PET CT throughout her life.
My father has blood clots in his brain and because of several paralysis attacks he is very immune to more attacks and the recovery time has also slowed down.
We do not have enough funds to provide daily physiotherapy and speech therapy hence he is unable to recover at a good rate.
Because of regular chemo therapy it is hard to find the veins to get more chemotherapy. The doctors have advised her to get a chemo port which costs around 55000-60000.
Because of lack of funds we are unable to continue chemotherapy, physiotherapy and speech therapy.
