It all started as a simple GERD in 2006-07 and I was prescribed PPIs. Sucrafil syrup and Pan D-40 became a routine until 2013 when I started getting chest pain. Frequent endoscopies only confirmed the deteriorating esophagus. I was asked to undergo surgery in 2019 (see document) which I postponed due to personal reasons and later due to the pandemic. Today I have reached a stage where the esophagus is paralyzed and the muscle isn't functioning properly. I am unable to eat anything solid and even a bowl of liquid/semi-solid meal goes undigested. Since Jan 2021, I have stuck to one meal per day which has led to poor absorption and other side effects. I have finally decided to go under the knife and I will be undergoing Fundoplication procedure (laparoscopic surgery) shortly.
