A social worker, who helped several needy souls during the pandemic and otherwise, needs your help!
My parents and I lost our jobs in the year March ’20 due to Covid-19 pandemic. In Feb ‘21, my mother, Vidya Jayant, was diagnosed with Covid-19. Her post- covid illness was more as she lost 12.5 kgs in 3 months. By April ‘21, she could barely eat and whatever she ate, triggered loose motions. An immense pain started in her stomach and after multiple tests, we came to know that she has an enlarged spleen (around 19.5 cms). After a bone marrow biopsy, she was diagnosed with splenic marginal lymphoma –low-grade blood cancer. Then she was advised for immunotherapy and that her administered. Her platelet count had fallen to 15000 during immunotherapy and 6 units of RDP(random donor platelets) and 1 unit of whole blood had to be infused. Her blood group being B-ve, which is also very difficult to find.
With further investigations, we got to know that her low-grade cancer has converted to a high-grade cancer i.e., B-cell lymphoma. On the 17th June ‘21, her chemotherapy had started, which would go on constantly for 6 days. On the 2nd day of chemo, her vitals went haywire and it was about to damage her kidneys. As a result, she had to undergo a 12-hour dialysis to flush out all the fluids. Her legs are completely swollen due to fluids filled.
She is batting for her life in the ICU currently. We have spent 14 lacs till now and we have almost exhausted all our savings. We are a family of 6 people and with all the regular income stopped, this battle is getting extremely difficult. She is currently on ventilator support. The family has done all it can to collect the total amount required for the treatment but Rs.20,00,000 more is required to pay for all the medical expenses. With folded hands, we request you to help us in whichever way possible. We will truly be indebted to you.
Please help us raise this amount.
