Stray animals are one of the most adversely-affected silent souls in the time of lockdown. While most NGOs have been actively looking after poor migrants and workers' needs, nobody thought of the strays dying of hunger.
These stray animals feed on waste food from restaurants, malls, cinema halls, hotels, food carts, societies, etc. But with lockdown, all their sources of food stopped overnight.
I could not sleep for days, hearing the constant barking for food. Hunger had made them agitated.
I, Vidit Sharma, and a few committed volunteers have been feeding stray animals (dogs and cows) since the start of lockdown in Noida.
We started feeding 30 stray dogs, and now we are providing food for almost 2500 of them, including puppies. Our expenses are increasing day by day, and we are now facing a cash crunch in arranging supplies for them. Per day cost has increased up to Rs. 8000 in serving those helpless animals. We are currently cooking 200 KG Rice, 400 Eggs, Oat Meals, and 50 Litres milk per day.
Apart from feeding stray dogs, we have also started a fodder station for the cows and have bought a cutter machine for a monthly EMI of Rs.10000
We are arranging/ putting water pots for dogs/ cows and other strays. As we do not want to break the chain and leave the poor souls hungry again, we need your generous support. These voiceless beings need us desperately.
We request you to please donate whatever amount you can to help us continue the drive. Every bit helps.
