    Nikhila Ganji

    from Hyderabad, Telangana

The departure of a loved one is never easy, especially so when it is least expected. When you kiss goodnight to a loved one, you do so hoping to wake up to them in the morning. But tragically this wasn’t the case for Venu Ganji, Nikhila Ganji and little baby Sahasra on the 23rd of February.

On the 24th of February, Venu Ganji experienced a sudden and severe case of shortness of breath, forcing him to get admitted at Remedy hospital. Upon admission it was diagnosed that his kidney had stopped functioning and that his liver was barely functioning thereby putting his blood at a high chemical imbalance. His blood pressure had also dropped very low to the point where doctors were hesitant to perfume the mandatory dialysis required at that point. After hours of trying, they were able to get his BP high enough to be able to perform only a partial dialysis.

Day after day his condition deteriorated. With his pain becoming intolerable, he was sedated most of the time. His body had swollen up to such an extent that his face had become barely recognisable. With the fear for his life in one hand and the helplessness as they see their life savings not being enough to sustain his life-support in the other; the turmoil his family was going through was unbearable.

The worlds of Nikhila and baby Sahasra came crashing down when he passed away after a week long battle for life right before their eyes. For Nikhila, a young girl of 24 whose new life and dreams had just begun 4 years ago and for little Sahasra who was just beginning to run around at 3 years, this shattered everything. With no income to support themselves as Venu had been the sole bread winner and their entire life savings spent on the medical expenses, the family is completely stranded emotionally and monetarily. They have returned to Kattangoor,  Venu’s village for the time being unsure of their next steps.

After losing a cherished son, a beloved husband and a devoted father, the least the family should be worried about while overcoming this tragedy should be money. Please join me in donating what you can to help their family during this darkest hour.
