The disruption caused by the Covid pandemic has significantly impacted the learning process for students in schools and colleges. While educational institutions attempted to move to e-learning, with stark disparities in access to the internet and technology, this transition has not been smooth for all students. Particularly in higher education, where academic rigor demands devices like laptops, these inequalities resulted in putting some of the students at an unfair disadvantage making the learning process more challenging for them. News of a few tragic incidents across India caused by such acute distress and helplessness jolted us into doing some soul searching into how we, alumni of a professional college, could do our bit to ease the journey of these young students and in November 2020 ‘Level Playing Field (LPF)’ was born.
We are a group of MANIT alumni who are passionate about helping current MANIT students be successful in their careers. Our mission is to bridge the digital divide created by diverse economic backgrounds and help lay a good foundation for the students that they can build upon. LPF organization identifies the needs of the current students and works with the donors to provide the appropriate levels of support to these students. MANIT alumni who are the LPF members span from 1983 to 2013 batches and the membership is continuing to expand every day. our goal is to create a virtuous cycle, such that the students that we help today become a member of LPF in the future and help support more students. Please review this site to see how you can be a part of the LPF organization and support students at our alma mater.
