The pandemic has taken so many lives, young and old, with no discrimination, and with no warning. With not even a chance for us to say a proper goodbye. Venkataiah was tested positive for Covid-19 on May 1st, and been treated at home and hospital.
On May 14th, he lost his battle to covid, leaving behind his 65-year-old mother, wife Kalyani (Housewife/unemployed), and 8-year old son Gagan.
He was 42 & Worked as a senior software engineer for Orion India Systems Pvt Ltd, Hyderabad. As a person who has known him for 21 years, I feel proud to be his friend. I always admired his hardworking nature, his sheer grit, and determination. When he got his first job in Mumbai, we all worried about how he would survive in such an unfamiliar place. He is not only survived, but he also thrived. In our college days, when we all went to our hometowns for vacation and relaxation, he went home to earn daily wages and support his family with extra income. He was rich in humanity though he was poor & worked on daily wages. He worked hard to earn scholarships throughout his education and went on to give comfortable lifestyle to his family.
His family lost their backbone and a prominent earning member. 8-year-old Gagan lost his father. We lost a dear friend. Covid has made it almost impossible to provide comfort and support in the event of such a huge loss. The least we can do is ensure their immediate financial needs are met and also secure a future for their child.
Education is the best gift anyone can give anyone. And we hope to provide that to Gagan, in the absence of his father, through this GoFundme campaign. I urge all of you, to contribute as much as you can, to ensure Gagan has continued access to education.
I sincerely thank you for your kindness and generosity.
