This fundraiser is for the Guru Raghavendra Orphanage, located in a small town named Yemmiganur in Andhra Pradesh. This is the home for 18 kids (ages 4 to 13), most of them are abandoned, parentless and street kids. This shelter is a 1HK, with a space of 650 sqft(1.5 cents approx). Because of the surging rents in town, the owner has relocated the orphanage to outskirts of the town, which is 4 km away from the kids Andhra Pradesh Govt school.
Due to COVID pandemic, schools were shut for the last one year and kids were home schooled with inadequate resources. But as the schools are being opened now, they have to walk 8 kilometres daily (to and fro). With my friend’s support, we have provided 2 cycles for them. And most of the kids must walk their way to school, as the schools are opened for all now.
What is the fundraiser for:
We sincerely need your help to buy 10 bicycles for the kids, so that they can reach their schools without a hassle.
For 10 cycles = 10 * 4500 = 45,000
The remaining money will be spent on laying a roof for the kids who are sleeping outside and in kitchen. With no access to any sort of technology, they had a severe impact on their education. We are planning to buy them a desktop and educational books. The rest will be used to buy mandatory medicine, clothes, blankets, vegetables and other daily stationary.
Upendra, this charmer here says that he dreams to join the Indian army and he got inspired by actor Mahesh Babu’s role from a movie.
All these kids here are bright, hardworking and lovely souls. They honestly need a caring, generous and strong hand to uplift them, which can be yours.
Please donate, each and every rupee counts and no donation is small one. Because the tiniest donation can positively impact a kid’s life in a really great way. If you can’t donate, please help us by sharing the fundraiser to your family and friends.
INDIVIDUALLY WE ARE ONE TINY DROP. TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE AN OCEAN.
Thank you for your time and help, I will provide the detailed update in this same page by 10-Apr-2021.
