Hello All,
My name is Nagaraj. I’m 72 years old and I am here to raise funds for my wife Usha, 65 years old, who is currently admitted in the ICU at Baptist hospital in Bangalore due to multiple organ issue, aggravated by covid.
On Jan 29th this year, my wife had a mild heart attack and was admitted for a week at Manipal hospital. She also tested positive for COVID on the same day. Less than a week after she was discharged from Manipal, there was a sudden onset of breathlessness and we rushed her to Baptist hospital where she was admitted to the ICU and put on ventilator immediately. She was diagnosed with multiple organ issues at Baptist, which include severe lung infection, lower respiratory tract infection, cardiogenic pulmonary edema, acute kidney injury, urosepsis, ischemic heart disease - these conditions were made worse by COVID infection. She is also diabetic with chronic kidney issues and hypertension, which is making her recovery slow. She has been on ventilator support for over 3 weeks now and the doctors say she needs to be on the ventilator for an indefinite period. My wife will also require continued medical assistance for her kidney and heart after the current hospitalization.
We have spent over 20 lakhs in the last 7 weeks between these two hospitals. We’ve run out of personal savings and medical insurance that partially helped cover all the treatments so far. The prolonged hospitalization will require us to spend a couple more lakhs. The estimated cost for further treatment in the ICU is 6 lakhs and we still have outstanding bills to clear. So I'm here requesting your support in raising the funds required for the continued treatment of my wife.
