Hi there, meet Madhu - a 21-year-old passionate footballer from a small village in Sonipat, Haryana, who trains with us two times a week. She attends school from 7 am-2 pm and then hops on a 2-hour bus ride (4hrs total travel time) to get to a practice session where about 20 other girls wait for her. What do these girls have in common, you ask? Just two things - first, a love for football, and second, a background of extreme hardships and circumstances that don't make it easy for these girls to pursue their passion for the game.

Madhu's father is a factory worker who manages a family of 5. He makes just enough to feed all the family members and has nothing left to contribute toward Madhu's dream of one day playing for India.

This crowdfunding request is for Madhu and her teammates who want to compete in the Football Delhi League, which will get them one step closer to their dream of playing for the country one day. This fund will be used to pay the 3 Lakh Football Delhi's club registration fee and cover the girls' travel expenses, refreshments, and training expenses for the entire year.

About me

I'm Aditi Chauhan, 29 - Goalkeeper of the Indian Women's National Football team, and the founder of the Aditi Chauhan foundation which is a registered NGO with the government of India.

Growing up, things were far from ideal, opportunities in football almost non-existent, and it was an uphill battle all the way through. In 2015, I became the first Indian (male or female) to represent an English club at the highest level when I signed for West Ham United's Ladies team in the FA Women's Super League.

Realizing the lack of opportunities for girls, I have always wanted to give back to the community, especially to the talented but underprivileged girls in our country. This is where the idea of starting an initiative like the Aditi Chauhan Foundation and setting up an academy like She Kicks came to me.
