Vidhya Kuti uses Human-Centred Design, Technology & Creativity to nurture these students into capable & responsible citizens of tomorrow. It was established in 2019 and so far we already have over 100 children who come to Vidhya Kuti every day in search of hope for a better life.
With Co-vid threatening the livelihood of many, children have been forced to skip school and take up jobs to support the family. All these children come from low-income families. Quality education is still a question in the schools near Rooma, Kanpur. Our endeavor is to ensure that these kids stay in school and complete their education by giving them the right environment for their growth. Help us give them education & skills with just 2000/- per child.
With 5 full-time teachers now enrolled and three classrooms equipped with blackboards and bookshelves, we are trying to incorporate more students towards becoming a place of hope for kids in and around the suburbs of Kanpur. We also run stitching and sewing classes for elderly women, to help them become self-dependent.
We also arrange Dance classes after school hours, annual festival celebrations, and team-spirit-building sports activities to capture their latent talents & create an atmosphere of overall development.
Recently, we have created a computer lab facility to aid their know-how with technology. We are trying to hone their computer skills such that they are job market-ready but with the ever-increasing number of students who come to school now, we are in need of Rs. 2,00,000 (1967 Pounds or 2724 USD) so that we can install more computers and develop more classrooms.
We are also trying to incorporate the use of video tutorials and interactive learning processes to upgrade the quality of teaching and accelerate their learning experience. This will aid in the equal distribution of knowledge.
