"Every child is born creative. The challenge is to keep that creativity alive."
We (Anubhuti Bidolya & Arushi Nagar) teach the students of 5th grade in an underprivileged school. After teaching for a year, we realized that most of us instinctively focuses on conventional education due to which children rarely get a chance to exhibit their creativity skills.
The other sad part is lack of resources at school and home, which is snatching the chance of my kids to work on their creative side through art. Hence, I am writing here, with a hope that your valuable support will help me to build a platform for kids where they can showcase their creativity skills.

Why fine art skill is important?
Creating art expands a child’s ability to interact with the world around them, and provides a new set of skills for self-expression and communication. Not only does art help to develop the right side of the brain, it also cultivates important skills that benefit a child’s development. But art goes far beyond the tangible statistics measured by studies — it can become a pivotal mode of uninhibited self-expression and amazement for a child. Art matters the same way language matters — or the way breathing matters! It is a fundamental component of what makes us uniquely human.
What is our project?
We are running a 9 month project "UMANG - Fusion Flea" to empower kids by following their fine art's passion. Umang will be a platform where students get a chance to showcase their creativity skills through:
1. Creativity stalls (Drawing, Painting, Sketching, Best out of waste, Handmade bags, Coasters, Handmade Jewellery, Quelling, Origami, Clay modelling etc)
2. Stage performances (Diverse dance formations, Story telling, Poetry, Singing, Skit etc)
3. Science Innovations
4. Non - stove cooking
5. Workshops by students (Tie dye, Soap making, Clay Items, Mehandi, Hair Styles etc)
How we are going to do this?
Stage 1 (August and September): Collaboration with 30 schools, mainly low-incomes. Currently we have 20 schools registered under our project.
Stage 2 (October and November): Conducting training sessions for participants.
Stage 3 (January): Participants will showcase their skills in Fusion Flea.
To make it alive, we would need funds to arrange a space where kids can exhibit their skills. Other additional expenses would be to provide travelling allowance, material to make products and training.
