When odds appear seemingly impossible to overcome, almighty sends angels into our lives to deal with tough times. This is what happened to me when I was a preschooler. At the age of two, when most kids play in the lap of their mother and father, my mother got paralyzed. Instead of supporting us, my father chose to leave us and got married to another lady. I was too young to understand this situation, however, this broke my mother completely. At this challenging time, my grandmother, my maternal uncle, and my aunt stepped in like angels and took care of me and my ailing mother.
Nine years later, while fighting her medical conditions, my mother passed away due to kidney failure and soon my grandmother also left us for her heavenly abode. I was eleven at that time and losing my mom and grandmother at that age shattered my world.
My uncle and aunt served as my guardians despite having their other family obligations and supported me and my education in their best capacity. However, in 2020, my uncle suffered a huge loss in his small business due to COVID-19 outbreak. The financial loss was quite stressful to him and badly affected his health. In Dec. 2020, my uncle suffered a paralytic attack. He was later diagnosed with 90% blockage in his left ICA. My aunt is the sole breadwinner of the family. During the first wave of COVID-19, her salary was reduced to half, the majority of which goes for my uncle’s treatment.
I am a fourth-semester undergraduate student in B.Sc. Biotechnology Program. My uncle and aunt tried their best to support me and my education. However, due to the current family situation, they are helpless and won’t be able to cover my tuition fees any further. The institution was kind enough to give me an extension for over a year without imposing any penalty. However, I am required to pay my tuition fees to continue my education. Therefore, I am turning to the community for help, hoping that some of the angels from the society will come forward to help me pay my tuition fees. I have been a bright student with my current SGPA of 9 out of 10. I am certain that with the support of society, I will have a bright career one day and I pledge to pay back to society by helping those in need.
