About Me -
My name is Tushar Gupta. I was born and brought up in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. I did my graduation from IIT BHU Varanasi and am now quitting my job to join IIM, Ahmedabad to pursue my post-graduation.
My Financial Background -
Coming from a middle-class family I realised the importance of money at a young age. I lost my father (the only earning member of my family) at the age of 7. Amidst all the financial hardships that came from being a single mom, my mother did a tremendous job of raising me and my elder sister. She somehow managed to finance our education up to graduation.
The two-year full-time Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), rated as the toughest MBA programme in the world to get admission, is the flagship programme of IIM Ahmedabad.

About PGP, IIM Ahmedabad -
Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad has been ranked first among management schools in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2018 and many other prestigious business magazines.The two-year full-time Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), rated as the toughest MBA programme in the world to get admission, is the flagship programme of IIM Ahmedabad.
Why Crowdfunding?
The academic fee for the two-year full-time PGP is approximately INR 23,00,000 (~35,000 USD). With limited to no savings, I and my mother are finding it difficult to fund my education any further. Hence, I'm resorting to external sources of finance like this crowdfunding platform. Since crowdfunding one's education is relatively new and unconventional in India, I am also using this as an opportunity to bring awareness among people about crowdfunding.
Why not an Education Loan?
I am only crowdfunding half (1st year) of my academic fees. I will pay the other half (2nd year) through my limited savings, the summer internship stipend (which I will get at the end of 1st year) and an education loan.
