As the world comes together to fight coronavirus, Birbhum district under the state of West Bengal, in India, is facing an acute lack of infrastructure to deal with the scale of the pandemic. Most of the people are workers, daily wagers, laborers and financially backward. Their savings can be spent at most 7 days, but then what will happen? They don't have money to spend the day afterwards, then how to buy handwash, sanitizer, mask??
These low-income families are already living in a very poor condition, as an educated Indian, it is the duty to stand by these people ,these villagers. During this lock down, I have been engaged in the distribution of food, masks, soap, sanitizer and awareness for the day laborers, workers, houseworkers and homeless people. It is impossible to provide services to the affected community and to raise awareness and help prevent the spread of the virus without your support.

আমি পিতুস সাহা। বর্তমানে আমি M.Sc ফাইনাল ইয়ারের স্টুডেন্ট । পশ্চমবঙ্গের বীরভূম জেলার , লাভপুর থানার অন্তর্গত একটা প্রত্যন্ত গ্রামে বাস করি। যেখানকার অধিকাংশই মানুষ শ্রমিক, দিন-মজুর , গৃহকর্মী ও আর্থিক ভাবে পিছিয়ে পড়া। তাদের জমানো টাকায় অন্তত ১০ দিন কোনোরকমে কাটানো যাবে , কিন্তু তারপর কি হবে । ১০দিন বসে খাবার টাকায় নেই তো handwash, sanitizer ,mask কিনবে কি করে , প্রায় মানুষ জানেনা এগুলি কি । স্বল্প আয়ের এই পরিবারগুলো ইতিমধ্যে খুব খারাপ অবস্থার মধ্যে জীবন যাপন করছে, শিক্ষিত ভারতীয় হিসাবে এই পরিবারগুলোর, এই মানুষগুলোর পাশে দাঁড়ানো কর্তব্য। তাই তাদের সচেন করার জন্য এবং সাহায্য করার জন্য আমরা কয়েকজন বন্ধু মিলে এগিয়ে এসেছি , কিন্তু এখন আমাদের পক্ষে অসম্ভব হয়ে পড়েছে তাই আপনাদের সাহায্য চাইতে এসেছি। লক ডাউন এর সময় দিনমজুর, শ্রমিক , গৃহকর্মী ও গৃহহীন মানুষদের খাদ্য বিতরণ , মাস্ক , সাবান , স্যানিটাইজার বিতরণ ও সচেতনের কাজে নিয়োজিত হয়েছি । ক্ষতিগ্রস্থ সম্প্রদায়ের পরিষেবা প্রদান এবং সচেতন করা এবং ভাইরাসের বিস্তার রোধে সহায়তা করতে আপনাদের সাহায্য ছাড়া অসম্ভব।

যতদিন যাচ্ছে ততই কঠিন পরিস্থিতির সম্মুখীন হচ্ছে দেশ তথা আমরা । এই কঠিন সময়গুলি নিরাপদে কাটিয়ে উঠতে আপনাদের সকলের অভূতপূর্ব সমর্থন প্রয়োজন। আমাদের গ্রাম ও আসেপাশের গ্রামগুলো এবং অঞ্চলগুলোতে কাজ শুরু করতে অনেক স্বেচ্ছাসেবক এর প্রয়োজন, অনুগ্রহ করে আপনারা আমাদের পাশে দাঁড়ান।
