Tribal community of Raigad district is facing challenges for their survival, due to lockdown caused by COVID 19,  they don't have work and no money to buy food grains from last one and half months. We have planned to provide survival kit worth  INR 1000 ( which includes rice, wheat, salt, chilly powder, salt, spices, oil, etc).   Request you to Donate Rs. 500 or more amount to help for survival of tribal community.  

 We the Shramjivi team have been helping Tribals of Mahad Poladpurof Raigad district  since 1976 to earn their rightful status in society. It's been a slow process, considering their extreme poverty and discrimination, but we have managed to get each tribal an identity, house ownership and unitedly demand their rights from the Government.  The Covid 19 pandemic has seriously disrupted their livelihoods (mostly daily wage earners, selling forest produce and fish catch from rivers and dams). Lockdown has isolated them from villages (main source of livelihood providers), leaving them on the verge of starvation. Health services has not reached them,  forcing them to depend on local herbal healers (vaidus).  Shramjivi team is working hard to get Government help for survival food grains kits (cost Rs 1000 per family of 4 persons - one month rations). But processing takes time , hence we request support from donors and well wishers to aid Shramjivi' s efforts. We have over 30,000 tribal communities to support in hamlets scattered deep inside forests and over mountains.
