When we started this initiative we never knew we will get so much love from all of you and also from the sections of Media be it National, Local and even International who were generous enough to cover our Initiative. Today we are happy to share with you guys that we have been able to serve 220 transgender members of community. We have provided details of each food/ration distribution drive in our "Updates Section" so that you guys are aware where your money has been spent. We ensure high level of transparency so that the deserving members of marginalized Transgender community receive all the help.
We planned to serve 400 members with ration/food essentials however due to the unlocking of lockdown in Kashmir the request for Ration has stopped since some economic activities have started however the requests for Prescription Medicines are piling up as a large portion of Transgender Community are still out of work & Medicines are mostly unaffordable by a major chunk due to it's costly nature.
We have decided to support the Transgender community with essential needs like Medicines, Health related diagnostic Tests etc. with our leftover funds & also request you to please support us by sharing this fundraiser among your family, friends, acquaintances.

Reason for the Initiative:
Transgender community is the most affected community due to lockdown in Kashmir. There was a lockdown in Kashmir in 2019 also prior to Coronavirus, which also added to the economic woes of the transgender community.
The basic source of Income of transgender community in Kashmir is via wedding industry, since the pandemic marriages have been mostly postponed, thus affecting the only source of Income of these people.
We have identified around 400 transgender people who are severely affected by the lockdown, are on the brink of hunger. We have verified & vetted all the information given to us from the insiders of the community who will also be actively partaking with us during these food distribution drives.
What Does Our Food Drive Consist Of:
We are planning to provide basic food items such as rice, oil, lentils, masala etc which will suffice them for about two months, since hopefully by the end of two months economic activities will restart here in Kashmir.
Average cost of two months of ration (food essentials) comes around INR 2500 (US $ 35 approximately).
