It is estimated that approx 12000-15000 families are affected by the floods in the Jalaun district. Crops in more than 20,000 acres are totally destroyed. Most of the villages are disconnected from the mainland. Many villages are still submerged. Thousands of animals and livestock are reported missing. The water level of the Yamuna River has risen to 115 meters.
Thousands of people are stuck in the villages even after two days due to these sudden flash floods. People are facing severe food and drinking water crisis due to water all around. Young children and pregnant women are the worst affected and are facing serious problems of safe shelter, health, and nutrition problems. Many families were living in huts and mud houses in the flood-affected region. Due to waterlogging, the houses are totally destructed causing severe living problems for those families.
