Ramnagar (Nainital) is popularly and proudly known for the Corbett National Park, the very first wildlife reserve of India, which protect and is home to tigers, elephants, chitals, sambar, nilgai and many more. But on the other side it holds the unseen and painful stories lying on the streets of this town.
Injured and pregnant animals, whether it’s from street or someone’s beloved pet, including dogs, cows, horses, mules etc. suffer in pain due to non-availability of diagnostic equipment like X- ray, ultrasound etc, which results in improper treatment. For injured street animals, even arrangement of medicines become difficult.
Interestingly, in this small city there is only one veterinary hospital and only one veterinary doctor with limited staff that do their best do treat animals but due to non availability of operation theater (OT), emergency treatment facilities and shelter, this ultimately cost injured animals lives. Also, there is no facility available within 150 Km radius around the city.
Though the state animal husbandry department makes tall claim about welfare of animals and for improvement in the infrastructure of veterinary hospitals but these claims are not withstanding as hospitals and dispensaries still lacks basic facilities required for treatment of animals in Ramnagar and area nearby (Uttarakhand).
Animals may not say in words but they do suffer in pain and its heart-breaking when we have to see a life dying only because we don’t have facility to treat them.
All creatures deserve a life free from fear and pain.

- To raise fund so we can bring medicines and basic diagnostic equipment like X-ray, Ultrasound etc.
- To provide basic as well as emergency treatment to injured and pregnant animals.
