    This fundraiser will benefit

    Tiger

    from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh

Tiger is a sterilized 5-6 years old male community dog from Ghaziabad. He is suffering from Mange and Transmissible Venereal Tumour.

Tiger had been profusely bleeding from his penis and nose, along with irritated and bleeding patches on skin since past few months. A well reputed shelter agreed to admit him in November'21, however they soon backed off. Later, a medical boarding was finalised for him and his younger sibling, Pasta (also suffering from TVT, now safely being treated at KAW) in December' 21.

However, at the day of his pick-up things turned out to be extremely traumatic. The dog catcher mishandled Tiger and almost killed him, while he managed to escape all injured and covered in his own blood. The driver, subsequent driver, the ambulance owner and the medical boarding owner kept serving deceitful promises and cover-ups, it was this kid who suffered the most in the name of his treatment by people juggling lives in pursuit of their commercial benefits.

Owing to his injuries and trauma, Tiger left our locality and kept hiding himself at nearby places with a severely injured neck, puked blood everytime we tried feeding him (through rare people he still trust), ran away on seeing us, and chased by other community dogs, all in Delhi NCR's December winter. He came back to our locality after two days and started showing minimal human trust once again. He had become extremely weak due to extensive blood loss and needed immediate medical help.

That is when we finalised another medical boarding for him, however his pick-up was an issue. Mr. Hemant Yadav handled his pick-up in the most peaceful manner, which was immensely tricky because of his neck injury, size/height and aggressive temperament due to extreme trauma.

At the boarding, Tiger was initially put on antibiotics for his injury, along with treatment for Mange. Eventually, he had to be sedated for his preliminary tests, wherein he was diagnosed with TVT (and Mange). He has been undergoing chemotherapy for the same (weekly, 2 done) under the supervision of Dr. Pandey.

Tiger has been a victim of lack of animal welfare infrastructure and commercially driven medical unit. His miseries were doubled without him being at fault. Please don't let him down this time? Help him as he fights for his life like many of our community animals.
