support the skinniest of cows | Milaap

support the skinniest of cows

We buy veggies from the poorest of vegetable sellers and feed the skinniest of stray cows. Every contribution helps meet two causes at one go!

Stray cows often feed on plastics in garbage dumps, and with continued ingestion of plastic over a period of time, it gets trapped in their stomachs. They slowly lose their appetite and stop eating altogether, and await a slow and painful death.

Even a small contribution from you can help us buy vegetables and fruits from a poor seller (helping him and his family) and then feed it to the stray cows and their calves.

There's no greater joy in civic life than in nurturing, feeding and protecting animals.

Om Mahakalyam Mahaveeryam,

May god bless all of you

It all started three months ago when the lockdown was declared and all the amenities became scarce. Our garbage lady would come on alternate days and we decided to use the greens for compost. A few days into this routine, ma suggested feeding the cows instead, since they couldn't move in and out of societies with the gates closed. We started feeding the cows at night, but soon realized how hungry they were and how little food our single household generated. We soon started buying veggies specially to feed the cows; they love cabbages, bottle gourd not as much!

If this is something that resonates with you, we'd love to have you as a part of our journey and share the Moo smiles and Moo blessings.

It takes around INR 100/- to feed a single cow every day. And as of now, we have 5-6 regular cows that we feed every day.

Even if you're unable to contribute financially, please do spread the word in your circles and help us make this cause a grand success.
