    This fundraiser will benefit

    The Period Society JIRS

    from Bengaluru, Karnataka

This month, we hope to begin our journey as a chapter of The Period Society to help women have greater access to safe and hygienic menstrual products.

The Period Society JIRS is a non-profit organisation combatting the menstrual taboo and period poverty via the Generation-Z led service, advocacy and awareness programs.

It is high time we take cognisance of the frustrations faced by women due to lack of access to hygienic menstrual products. Menstrual hygiene products are expensive and women mired in poverty often defer to alternatives that are cheaper. These alternatives range from dirty rags, old clothes and socks that get damaged over time to saw dust or ash. Moreover they are unaware of the severe health complication that could arise from these alternatives. Ending up in emergency rooms often and still not having the required awarness about menstrual hygiene, menstruates are stuck in a loop.

With this fundraiser we can change the lives of at least few women in Bangalore, India.

We have decided to collaborate with the non-profit organisation, Project Inaayat (Enactus H.R College) to donate sustainable (cloth-based) menstrual hygiene products to women mired in poverty worsened by the Covid-19 pandemic.
